Valérie Mayer co-leads our Banking & Insurance team with Ludovic Gayral and Dominique Doise.
Valérie has been devoting her activity to serving banks for over twenty years, in both transactional and litigation matters, whether it be in “classic” banking law (liability litigation, including in relation to payment orders, financing, drafting of contractual documentation, bankruptcy proceedings) or in the more specific field of international banking law and “Trade Finance”.
Valérie works for some of the largest French banks as well as for French branches of foreign banks and banks with a business or country specialization.
In addition to her banking activity, Valérie also has an activity in business litigation and international arbitration.
Valérie has always had a teaching activity, be it at University, in business schools or at the Paris Bar School, covering such subjects as banking law, special contracts, litigation or bankruptcy proceedings.
Valérie also provides various training courses for the banks’ legal, technical or commercial teams.
Valérie joined Vatier in January 2020. She previously worked in the French law firms Bernard-Hertz-Béjot, Bignon & Lebray, Alérion and Adamas. She pursued her education in a bilingual class, after which she perfected her knowledge of legal English and her understanding of the Anglo-Saxon way of thinking at New York firm Cravath, Swayne & Moore.
